What was to be the highlight of my Miami holiday ended up a day of torture. Firstly the day before the booking was emailed to say they do not pick up at our hotel so had to catch a cab add $75 to price, then on the ferry was told sorry the pig beach is closed today omg I was shattered. So of we went to grand Bahamas to a market to shop and a tiny not so Bahamas looking beach to be harassed by a friendly drunk local wanting to sell us beer lol. And we could wait for the bus to come pick us up again the day was long 5am wake up and we got home at 12.30am and didn’t see the PIGS! If the beach wasn’t closed and/or we were notified and could change the day it would of all been worth it! But.....

Premettendo il fatto che Pig Beach non è l'habitat naturale per i maialini (importati dalla Spagna, messi in un recinto e portati fuori solo quando ci sono i turisti), credo che davvero non valga la pena fare questa escursione (tra l'altro molto costosa, se si aggiunge anche l'opzione pig Beach). Su quasi 24 ore di escursione, passerete almeno 3 ore in fila alla dogana sia per lasciare Miami che per rientrarci. Una volta arrivati alle Bahamas (se sceglierete l'opzione Pig Beach) vi porteranno a Crystal Beach, una spiaggetta minuscola con acqua scporca (altro che CRYSTAL, quella la potrete vedere solo in una piccola area di circa 3 m2 in cui ci portano i turisti per farli stare con i maiali). Una volta terminata questa "avventura" della durata di circa 45 min (non di più!) vi faranno salire nuovamente sul bus e vi faranno fare un "tour" di un'ora circa dell'isola in cui vedrete solo le case degli abitanti di Gran Bahama (non sarebbe stato meglio sfruttare quel tempo per visitare una spiaggia più carina?!). Mi dispiace soltanto per coloro che lì alle Bahamas ci lavorano e mettono il cuore per far conoscere la propria terra ai turisti. In sintesi, il mio consiglio? se volete visitare le Bahamas, prendetevi 2/3 giorni e fatelo per conto vostro, non affidatevi a questo "tour guidato"
